Our strategies to effect change and create awareness are not limited to the traditional lobbying efforts “under the Gold Dome.” Much of our success is attributable to the grassroots support the legislators receive from our members and advocates.
In addition the Alliance has been extremely active to educating members of the General Assembly through the planning and coordination on research tours for the House & Senate ED&T Committees, as well as hosting other public forums for legislators across the state.
TDAG’s Advocacy Program provides a unified public and political voice for tourism, as the Alliance actively lobbies elected officials on the local and state levels in pursuit of its stated mission of enhancing Georgia’s tourism industry. TDAG actively collaborates with the public affairs professionals from its partner organizations to insure a cohesive message is carried forward to all levels of government.
TDAG believes one voice for tourism in not the answer, but a multitude of voices speaking in harmony will effect real change. This program is comprised of two main segments: Governmental Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy, who work together to effectively raise the overall visibility of the tourism industry as a vital component of Georgia’s economy.
